“I’ll just forget about the course, twisting my ankle, losing a shoe for a bit in a clay mud bog, falling over 4 times and the hills, the weather, the mud, the icy cold water and the 4.5 hours of misery so that I can talk myself into doing it again next year, just think about the cake :-)” [AristoPJ]
“Words cannot describe my sense of achievement just for finishing this race. The weather was appalling, terrain near impossible in places and the wind was strength sapping. The mix of being wet through (5 layers!) and the wind drying my clothing acting like a wick sapping the heat from my body. Twice I nearly quit due to the cold. The amrshalls were fantastic and must have been freezing themselves. Also, soaking, swollen jelly babies have never tasted so good!!” [Colin Hiscock]
“This was the fifth or sixth time I’ve taken part in this race, but the first time I’ve had to be rescued due to the onset of hypothermia!” [Robyn Bott]
